An Eminent place for woodcraft, is located 35 km south west of sargodha district. Sillanwali town was developed by British Government in 19th century to promote agriclture linkages through newly developed irrigation canal and railway system. The people brought along wooden lacquer art and wooden carving work. After the emergence of Pakistan as a Muslim state in 1947, our forefathers migrated to Pakistan the same year and settled at Sillanwali District Sargodha. A past master in the art of handicraft, lacquer work and carving, they began to work and established "Rashid Handicraft" in 1976. In 1990 the export of the articles started and with the lapse of time and the of "Rashid Handicraft" become well known allover the world. The factory and showroom are situted at Sillanwali town now tehsil headquarter while to second branch of "Rashid handicraft" is now in Anarkali Lahore.
